RESERVING PUPPIES
Thank you so much for your interest in my puppies! I hope these guidelines will be helpful if you want to "reserve" one of my puppies or a puppy from an unborn litter. Please E-mail or call me with any questions, concerns, or to reserve a puppy. Poppy G.
WITHOUT A DEPOSIT
I will place your name on a waiting list for a puppy of the sex,
color, size* and price range* you request and will notify you when the litter is born.
WITH A DEPOSIT
Reservations with deposits have first priority.
The first $250 deposit has first
choice on a born or unborn puppy (of the sex, color, size and price you specify.) The next deposit has the next choice, etc, based on the order deposits were received. I will do my best to accomodate everyone concerned.
If there is no puppy born of the sex, color, and size* you specified I will refund your entire deposit. Or, if you prefer, I will
apply your deposit to a puppy from the next litter, if one is due and available.
If there is a puppy that meets the criteria you specified and you change your mind I will keep the deposit to offset lost potential buyers.
It is impossible to tell the size a puppy will be as an adult because they grow in different ways. Some grow quickly then slow or stop growing, some have growing spurts, others have both. While I will use my best efforts to accurately predict the grown size of a puppy, it is always a guess.
While some breeders might assure you the puppy will be smaller as an adult (smaller dogs are in greater demand) in order to sell you a puppy, they are counting on the fact that you will fall in love and not want to give the dog back when it ends up bigger than they promised it would be.
THIS IS THE TRUTH: No one can
accurately determine the final adult size of a puppy. It is always
a guess. However, guessing a weight range can be more
accurate (4 to 5 pounds, for example.) The older a puppy is, the more
likely the accuracy.
Based on my experience as a breeder, and a buyer (I sometimes buy puppies myself because I refuse to inbreed) there are 3 ways to best guess how big a poodle will be:
*PRICE
The final price of a puppy is based upon several factors, which become easier to see as the puppy gets older. At some point, usually no later than 6 weeks, I will set a price range as soon as possible (such as, $900 to $1,400, or $1,500 to $1,900, or $2,000 to $2,500 for example) but puppies turning out to be very tiny teacups can be significantly more expensive, depending on some other factors also.
If the final price of a puppy is lower than the price range I set, you will get the lower price.
If the final price is higher than the price range I set, it is YOUR CHOICE to either:
1. Purchase the puppy at the higher price, I will refund your entire deposit, your choice, or
2. Put your deposit toward a different litter, if one is due, or
3. Receive a full refund of your deposit.
If the final price is within the
range (and the sex, color and estimated size) we agreed on but you
just change your mind for some reason and do not buy the puppy, I
will keep your deposit unless someone else is waiting and buys
that puppy. If they pay less for the puppy than we had agreed upon, that difference will be deducted from your deposit refund.
Note: My main concern is always for my puppies, and I hereby reserve the right to refund a deposit (if there is one) and to sell or not sell a puppy at any time to whomever I choose at my own discretion for any reason disclosed or undisclosed. All puppies are sold with AKC "Limited" registration unless otherwise agreed to in writing.
